Beach Magic II

One day, I will catch a wave that lingers.

So cool and warm at the same time,

its untemperature

mingling my porous skin

as a half-lemon hugged by Vodka, or

a bubble suspended at a birthday party.

It will be called ~ Love,

rolling in with a flavour,

secretly belonging to him and myself.

Maybe ~ seaweed and driftwood, sultry

and otherworldly as Sea water.

I will not feel clean, so much as

held.

Not like a fish stuck in Formaldehyde, but a Biblical queen ~

carried to shore on a raft of weightless froth and shells,

myrrh, flowers, Sheba’s Aloe

and gently, lowered to sand.
